Jurassic Park

Here is a piece Ive been wanting to do for a long time.Jurassic Park has allways been my favorite film. One of the reasons I pursued the arts in general. Ive allways wanted to do a tribute piece for it, so I decided to give it a shot. This isn't from any scene in particular, just wanted to have fun with the characters.

The Walking dead! AND THINGS

So the Walking dead premired last night on amc. LOVED it. I did this quick piece of Andrew Lincoln as Rick. I allways tend to put a lot of color in my pieces. So I had to bring it down a lot here to make it fit with the mood of the show. It was fun.

I've been in a small Charicature Kick, so I did this piece of my girlfriend and I. We have big teeth!

Drawing Funny Books!

So ive been tryign to build up my portfolio. Here are a few pages for a short story Ive been slowly developing. more SOON...

So here are the main characters for the 6 page short. They are all rendered differently bacause they were all drawn at different times. The last guy is somewhere in my gallery, he used to be blue, but I changed him for the purposes of the story... Im still a bit undecided.

Here is a small process of how I go about doing the pages. I usally just do small pencil thumbnails and blow them up in photoshop. Once in there I start making corrections. I really wasnt feeling the first of last 2 panels for whatever reason. I knew I could get away with more.

Im a HUGE fan off all things traditional, and allways try to somehow incorporate as much as I can into my work. There are soooooooo many techniques and tools to use in the artworld, and I'm allways trying to be openminded and try and learn as much as I can from them.

I started inking my stuff right before highschool, and like everyone ealse, it was all with my dad's office pens. It wasnt until I got to college that I learned that most pros use a brush to get those crisp perfect lines. During that time, a friend taught me how to use the quill pen, and loved it. I had used a brush before, for acrylics and stuff, but not like this...I then finaly got my hands on the brush, and omg, I wanted to bash my head to the desk, I could not grasp it at all.

After looking at works from Jeff Smith, and Mark Schultz, I just had to try again. Its allmost Impossible to not look at their work and grab a brush.. Im slowly learning... and Im getting quite addicted to using it with my work; Its so fun. I am absolutely not doing these brushes any justice...but in time.

It always bugged me that even though they were "teenagers" they never look it. So I decided to play on that a little bit. I also thought that their personality should reflect their appearance a bit more...so tadaaa!

As far as the colors go, I chose from two different pallets and combine them, one was from the most resent show, and the other from the first action figures from back in the day.

Heya!!! so I went to Florida last week for Comic Con, and it as as fun as it was last year. Always good to meet people and hang out with friends. Hopefully we can do it again next year.

Here are some recent stuff. The first are a few doodles made with "Alchemy" very fun software to mess with. The next one was my entry for the Darkstalkers tribute book. And lastly a sketch of Joker and Harley Quinn... i need to scan it... and post up a better resolution pic... that one was taken with a camera.thanks again everyone!

Well, this was the image I submitted for the Crestock photoshop contest. The theme was "Apocalyptic Christmas"... yeah i know...a little pessimistic. Anyways, I didn't win, but did manage to end up 3rd... not bad, step up from last year, which I got in 4th. I guess next year it will be 2nd haha.
